Protecting your stuff is important. That’s where Contents Insurance comes in. Use our drop-down to find out what we mean by Contents Insurance, and all the differences between it and Buildings Insurance.
When we say ‘contents’, we mean all the possessions in your home. From bookcases to beds, consoles to clothing, it’s all included. That’s the difference between contents insurance and buildings insurance, which covers the structure of your home. Buildings-only insurance won’t cover your possessions, so it’s important to check what your policy includes.
If you’re only covered by buildings insurance, or you’re a tenant that doesn’t have home insurance at all, contents insurance is the best way to protect your stuff. With us, you’ll get new-for-old cover, 2-hour replacements and cover for accidental damage.
Plus, Tenants’ Liability is included as standard, so if you’re renting, we’ve got you covered. We’ll pay towards repairing any damage to the landlord’s property.
Check out more of our Contents Insurance benefits below.
And don’t forget. With Direct Line, if you get a contents insurance quote, you’ll get £50,000 of contents cover for your home as standard with our Home Insurance policy.
Our different levels of cover
We currently offer three levels of Home Insurance cover. Our standard Home Insurance has optional extras that allow you to tailor your policy to your needs. Home Insurance Plus includes all optional extras as standard, making it a fully comprehensive level of cover. SELECT Premier is for customers looking to protect contents of £100,000 or more.
All of our policies come with access to our 24-hour emergency helpline as standard.
